A Deacon is a servant of God and a subordinate officer of the local church whom he/she serves. The Deacon assists the Pastor in the spiritual administrative work of the church. The word Deacon comes from the Greek word "Diakonos" meaning servant of the church.
Offer service that is pleasing to God, to the leaders of the church, our fellow members, and the community. We accomplish this mission through prayer, communion, baptism, visitations, and by supporting all ministries of the church.
Evangelism Outreach Ministry
The primary mission of the Evangelism Outreach Ministry is to promote and spread the Word of God to people outside of the church and to win souls for Christ. We accomplish this mission by going door-to-door and street evangelism. In addition, we strive to teach individuals how to effectively share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through classroom training and workshops.
Thanksgiving donations of non perishable food items are due by Tuesday, November 15, 2016 for delivery to the ICAC-Oxon Hill Food Pantry, Temple Hills, MD. We appreciate your support.
The role of the ministerial staff is to assist the Pastor in all areas of the church, such as preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ; visiting the sick and shut-in; and evangelizing the lost. The staff also helps the Pastor develop various ministries in the church to fill a need in the community. The staff supports the Pastor in any project that she/he assigns.
Music lifts the spirit and appeals to the heart; thus, it serves to prepare those who attend worship services to hear the preached Word of God as this ministry encourages the body of Christ through song and praises to the Lord.
New Members' Ministry
The New Members' Ministry consists of a series of classes that assists new members in understanding their commitment to becoming an active member of a Body of Christ by using their gifts and serving God.
Provides age appropriate based Biblical instruction to those who attend with focus on a systematic approach to studying God's Word.
This is a ministry of helps, with a variety of funtions. It is a very visible ministry, and it plays a vital role before, after, and during Church Services and special events. Ushers are called to represent Jesus Christ and to be an extension of His heart and hands for those in the congregation and for visitors. Ushers are called to meet, greet, and direct people who come to our church. Ushers represent the church and pastor to every new visitor. They are called to actively meet people and make them feel welcome and important. One of the assignments is to kindly and affectionately greet people and then seat them in the sanctuary as they come to worship.
One body jointly fitted together with many members edifying and glorifying God while helping each woman to grow in the knowledge of God, His Word, and His Will. Keeping the Word of God in the forefront, we provide workshops, seminars, retreats, and participate in community outreach projects, programs, and events.
